Sixth Father and Son Banquet Draws Record Crowd at Y
An overflow crowd of 185 fathers and sons attended the sixth annual Father and Son Banquet at the Acton Y last Thursday evening. Additional seating was added in the new Teachers corps lounge as 30 more places were needed. Don Groff of the Kitchener YMCA spoke on What’s in a Name, with film strips illustrating YMCA principles. The program featured Grace, welcomes, toasts to sons and fathers, a sing along, and magic acts by the Y Wizard club before the speaker. Meals were served, dessert included pie and ice cream, and the event was hosted by the Acton Y’s Men’s Club.

The North Halton District High School Board awarded Mackenzie and Son of Acton a contract totaling 36 690 dollars for a three room addition to Acton High School.
