Robbers Seized After Hillsburgh Bank Holdup
Two Bolton men, Robert Doucet and Garfield Ridout, were captured after robbery at the Royal Bank in Hillsburgh. Police recovered $4,056 from the glove compartment and held the suspects on armed robbery charges. Bank staff faced two armed intruders who forced entry and guarded them in the vault before a prompt escape and pursuit.

Police Investigate Accident and Disturbance on Wallace Avenue
A rear end collision on Wallace Avenue on April 7 caused about 260 dollars in damage to two cars. Constable B Moreau laid charges. Vehicles were driven by Jon Dana of Acton and John Hardy of Guelph. Acton Council Adopts Dog Control Agreement
Acton Council approved an agreement with Cecil Robertson of Glen Williams to enforce the Dog Control By-law for Georgetown and Acton. Cost set at 20 cents per capita yearly. Robertson to be available 24 hours, two days weekly in Acton. repeat owner notification, $5 reclaim fee, $1 per day board, and possible destruction after three days. A 12 by 50 foot concrete dog pound will be built at Glen Williams.

Avian Gyroplane Wrecked in Taxi Test at Wellington Airport
Avian Industries Ltd. suffered a gyroplane crash during an unscheduled jump taxi test at Wellington Waterloo Airport. Pilot Emil Zuber, 74, of Georgetown, is hospitalized with a fractured left ankle in good condition. Investigations found no defects or malfunction and praised design quality.

The Planning Board reopened discussion on allowing non conforming private garages and ordered plot plans from applicants to assess lot by lot space. Rear End Crash Causes $2000 Damage East of Acton
A rear end collision on Highway 7 just east of Acton last Thursday evening caused $2000 in total damage with $1000 to each car. James Elliston of Glen Williams had halted his 1957 Cadillac partially off the westbound lane after running out of gas. Alec Wilson of 33 Queen Street Acton driving another vehicle collided with the Cadillac. Wilson said he did not realize the car was stopped.
