The Dublin Literary Society hosted Bannockburn as guests for a Friday meeting at the school. After opening and business, Walter Linham introduced the visiting group and their president Mrs Hoy MokKeown. Kennedy Wins East Edmonton By-Election for Social Credit
Orvis A. Kennedy a 20 year old Edmonton hardware clerk won the East Edmonton federal by election on the Social Credit ticket defeating the Liberal candidate by about 1,000 votes and dominating the Conservative choice. The by election filled the seat left vacant by the death of Dr W B Hall a Social Credit member.

Transportation of Pupils To Festival By Acton School Board
Acton School Board members chaired by J M McDonald discussed transporting 100 pupils to a Bronte Music Festival and arranging rehearsal space for the Acton Citizens' Band. The Finance Committee approved several small supplier payments totaling about 93.28 and a gym rental by YMCA. Knox Young People Hold Musical Festival Program
Tuesday evening the Public School children performed at Knox Young People’s meeting. The lineup included Junior Choir selections, a Boys’ Duet by Charlie Allen and Sam Brunelle, a 60-Voice Choir piece, a girls’ duet Betty Gibson and Joyce Draser, a boy’s solo Sam Brunelle, and a Double Trio selection. The audience applauded and wished Miss Hunt and the children success in the festival. The meeting closed with devotional, business, and a hymn.

Thieves Enter Norval Garage Steal Cash
Two thieves broke into Willian Beamish's garage at Norval on Sunday night and stole between 10 and 14 dollars from the cash register. Two local boys, passing the garage about 10 30 p m, saw the men and notified the proprietor. By the time Mr Beamish reached the garage the two men had escaped by car.

The Auditor Explains the Annual Report
At a special council meeting in Clerk Leatherland's office Reeve F Jo McCutcheon presided with Councillors Mason Chal mers Chapman present.
