Local Highway Mishaps in Fog in Acton and Esquesing
Foggy conditions caused two separate incidents this week. In Acton at Queen Street and Young Street, Jessie Mitchell Hanover and Calvin Fletcher of Toronto were involved in a minor collision with about 80 dollars in damage. East of Esquesing on No 7 highway a large transport left the road into a ditch but the driver escaped injury and the vehicle sustained little damage.

Three Huntsville Leather Plant Deaths From Gas Leak
Three workers at the Anglo-Canadian Leather Co. tannery in Huntsville died Saturday due to hydrogen sulphide gas. The plant manager and two other employees were among the deceased, with Canada Packers owning both Huntsville and Beardmore plants. Representatives attended the funeral, and local men knew the victims including Sholte Rawn, brother of Gordon Rawn. Alvin Chevalier was also among the dead.

Eramosa Board approves repairs and raises salaries
The Eramosa Area School Board met in Rockwood with Duncan McPhedran presiding. They authorized front door repair at No 9 and approved an electric bell for the Rockwood school. The minimum salary was raised from 2400 to 2000. A steel reinforced blackboard system was ordered, and three teachers will be advertised by Secretary George Day.

Right of Way on No 7 Highway to Widen to 100 Feet

Seals Ladies Night Elects New Officers and Campaign Update
At Betry club meeting on Tuesday evening the Easter Seal campaign returns reached 80 percent of last year.
