W E Townsend of Norval was appointed road superintendent pending ministerial approval and a $1200 per year salary. four applications were received. The council read a Highways Department letter terminating the prior superintendent and adjourned to May 6 for the next meeting.

Streetsville Creamery Fined 4000 for Illegal Butter Sales
Fred Lepotaky of Streetsville was fined 4000 for selling butter without proper coupana, the largest individual penalty to date. Magistrate Robert J Browne noted the defendant shared responsibility with Pattisserie Francaise Yonge Street bakery’s partners, Eugene Cimbaluzier and Ernest Meunier, who faced 3400 penalties earlier.
