Lawrence J. Conrad of Westboro sues Mormis Youman deputy tax collector in Marlboro charging unlawful imprisonment on June 20 1936 for refusing to pay disputed poll and excise taxes. He alleges a $72 total including interest after being taken to Worcester County jail. Trial set in Worcester court with attorney John J Girnetti.
Two out of town fishermen bagged thirteen and twelve trout each at a Route 2 pool near Wheeler's corner. Officials released 380 trout to Nashoba Brook streams. 128 were caught in one hour after wardens left. Anglers accused of slaughter criticise use of nets versus hooks.

Miss Martin of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health has finished arrangements with the local Board of Health and committee. A health survey committee will assist in preparation, funded by Social Security funds under state health guidance.
South Acton Fire Company hosts an Old Folks dancing party at Acton Town Hall next Monday night with Lyle Reynolds as chairman and Thomas Yetman and Herbert Merriam as assistants. The event aims for social success and also to raise funds for personal equipment and fire station needs.

Cast included Forrest Bean Jr as Henry and Vesta Balsor as Agnes with a supporting lineup of local actors. Proceeds supported the Durham fund.
Chief W. Burton Harvey has recovered from a recent illness and a slight accident. He is recovering from the injuries and will resume duties soon.
The West Acton Young Men's Class visited Manchester by the Sea for a Sunday evening service led by Rev. A. M. Jeffries. A Christian Endeavor Society was organized, with Gordon Tate leading and Russell Briggs directing songs with his mother at the piano.

Rev and Mrs Andrew J Torsieff hosted Mrs Orsletts brother Carlos B Clark and family last week. Clark lectured at the Harvard School on the History and Romance of Action and started a senior class contest three years ago presenting a silver shield to the school for the yearly winner. He is from Acton and recalls old friends.
South Acton Word notes the death Thursday in Worcester of Mrs Emma Currier widow of Dr Walter Currier former post master and paper correspondent. She had been in poor health for years and lived with Mrs Ellen MacKensir on Maple street after her husband’s death. Funeral services were held at St Johnsbury Vermont on Saturday.
West Acton Woman's Club met at Seiler's 1775 House on the Concord Highway for the annual luncheon. Fifty-one members and friends enjoyed a chicken shortcake meal followed by a tour to the Agassiz Museum at Harvard College to view glass flowers gems and minerals. The next event is a three day Swampscott conference with President Mrs Leroy Strong attending and staying at the New Ocean House.
Emerson Hospital Cordially invites the public to visit on Wednesday May 12 in the afternoon. Tea and punch will be served until six o clock. Toys balloons and a friendly atmosphere await all children accompanying visitors.
Four trained musicians from the New England Conservatory entertained high school students for three quarters of an hour. The program featured instrumental ensemble, violin, cello, vocal and piano solos, with performers from Wisconsin Idaho Iowa and Boston and a pianist headed for London fellowship.
