United States Steel secures Hill ore lease for fifty years

Foot Bridge Collapse Kills Wisconsin Student

In Oconto Falls Wisconsin a foot bridge gave way while a group of twenty five Oconto High School students watched the falls. Four students were seriously injured and one boy, William Ballou aged fourteen, was killed. The instructor Professor Newcomb was badly hurt and several others were slightly injured. Twenty five students had just left the bridge before the collapse.
