Fifteen New Fever Cases and One Death Reported

Up to 12 o clock Tuesday there were fifteen new fever cases and one death in New Orleans. Cecelia Spies, of Oak Street, died at about 6:44 a.m. The state health board said only one new case by ten o clock. Donations from across the country continue to support the relief effort. Dr. John Caiteras, a yellow fever expert, heads to Galveston to assess conditions after delays at Houston quarantine. A special train carried Louisville officials to Indianapolis to press Gov Mounton on quarantine policy.

Push Durrant Case Heads to Supreme Court

San Francisco October 5. Theodore Durrant through his attorneys has been served with a motion by the State warden of San Quentin to dismiss his habeas corpus appeal which the circuit court denied and to affirm the lower court order. The motion will be presented to the United States Supreme Court on the first Monday of November. Attorney A L Hart for Darrant and Attorney General Witzgerald acknowledged service. The state seeks a speedy decision and anticipates execution would follow.
