Ackley public schools will stage a graduation program Tuesday June 4 at 8 o clock in the Presbyterian church. Thirteen pupils will receive diplomas including nine boys and four girls with a baccalaureate address by Rev G Copeland. A reception and banquet follow at the hall of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Pupil performers at Sacred Heart Academy present an evening program on May 24 at 7 30 in K of P Hall featuring Chorus-Fisetble Glory God and Our Bonny Boys In Blue. The lineup includes multiple accompanists and student acts such as patriotic songs mazurkas dances and a literary conference with senior toye accompanist Miss E Stock and more across a varied program.
Shannon Brothers launch the summer season in the city Monday evening. They face competition from established touring companies and expect three companies on the road. The schedule includes two dozen performers with an estimated arrival this week, signaling a busy start to their program.

Kellogg family members mourn the death of James Kellogg of Hampton and relatives in Ackley and Allison.
The Cedar Falls festival on Friday and Saturday will present Theodore Thomas’s Chicago Orchestra and a chorus of over 200 voices. Illinois Central offers a special fare of one and one third, with trains leaving Cedar Falls each evening. Local reports note thefts and small incidents around town, including a silver case stolen in Chung Lee’s area and other minor updates from Ackley and Parkersburg.
