Four Die In New York Tenement Fire
A five story tenement at 209 East Ninety-seventh Street burned killing four people and injuring two firefighters who fell from the building. Rescue efforts and a fatal fall of a mother with a two year old child occurred as smoke overwhelmed occupants. Four bodies were found on the top floors and identified at the morgue as Rebecca Rabinowittz and her children Abraham seven months Ida five Fannie eight.
