Burlington Pocket-Picking Amid Circus Visit
Several residents in Burlington reported pockets picked as two circuses were in town. John Fox of Dallas County, former Iowa legislator, died of heart failure. Louis McCardle, a Shenandoah farmer, was accidentally shot by his son and killed. JA Collins, ex public safety commissioner at Keokuk, died in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Arthur McCreedy of Webster City, Civil War veteran, died at his Marshalltown home. Mr and Mrs Chas Peters of Glenwood injured when their buggy collided with an automobile.
