Hog House Floors and Hog Health
A Chicago Inter Ocean note favors plank floors for sow housing to improve health and hygiene. It argues dirt floors harbor dust, dirt, and disease, while elevated plank floors allow better air circulation and easier disinfection. The piece links dirty bedding to rheumatism in hogs and notes easier maintenance with plank floors. The rest includes a social vignette and a local ad reference.
