Inclement Weather Delays Cemetery Society Meeting
A meeting of the Cemetery Society at Symington cottage by the Town river is postponed due to bad weather with a new date to be announced. The Wallace circus in Waterloo featured a nerve reaction as a woman fainted after a purse mishap and the contents may have been recovered by bystanders. In a State case, Frank and Ben Brown were discharged after the judge ruled they were not guilty of assault and battery on George Linde, a relative of the Bolenders of Ackley. Local notes also mention red ants invading homes and a report on June water use at Eldora. Mrs. C L Haworth of Mason City will visit Ackley with art materials July 10–11.
