Road Subsidy for Des Moines Line Faces Delays
The Des Moines, Jows Falls and Northern road gains a 70,000 tax subsidy to connect Jolning townships with Staty county and build a fair road to Des Moines. Completion and train operation by December 30 are required, but freezing weather and unfinished roadbeds threaten timely service. Trains may run limitedly along unfinished sections until spring, while heavy grades and muddy cuts hinder full operation. A box social is planned for Friday December 19 in Grant township, with a school program featuring songs and dialogues led by Letta Slater.
