Thanksgiving day observance at city churches praised
The summer sunshine of Thanksgiving day brought joy as Rev. Smith spoke at the First Evangelical and other city churches held services. Sermons in English and German, praises, and a national reflection on liberty, history, and religious faith followed a proclamation of gratitude for God’s mercy. The day featured a broad call for moral reform and unity, ending with “America” and benediction. A bridge lumber contract was awarded to Nebraska Bridge Supply.
