Washington State College extends its extension school program and farmer's institute to Chehalis county farmers at Aberdeen High School auditorium. Lectures and demonstrations run Monday through Saturday with topics including dairying soils crops live stock poultry home economics berry growing and orchard practices. Fair receipts show strong Elma support at Chehalis county event
Elma hosted the Chehalis county fair with gate receipts and privilege sales totaling over 4700 dollars. President Simpson told county commissioners the fair should close with cash on hand though net total was not yet finalized. Prize money of over 900 dollars came from Elma citizens, and Elma contributed more than 700 in cash overall.

The Grays Harbor port commission, in a special meeting, voted unanimously for a 2 mill levy yielding 68 610 for harbor improvements next year. Five thousand dollars goes to engineering work for dock improvements between Aberdeen and Hoquiam. The Wilson line paused service due to lacking dock facilities. A dredge is needed. government opposition blocks bringing one from Portland or the Sound. Several harbor lease applications await next week's meeting.

Federal Aid For Good Roads Expands National Forest Fund
Secretary Houston announces ten percent of gross receipts from national forests are allocated to state road projects. For the year ending June 30, 1913 the fund totals $234,638.68 with $134,831.10 from 1912 still available. Projects include Wyoming forest roads, Grand Canyon access, Ocean to Ocean Highway crossings, and Florida bridges.

Aberdeen City Council Fixes Tax Levy and Budgets
Aberdeen council approved 11.715 mill tax levy totaling 847,241 for current expenses library and bond interest. The budget was set at 60,711.36 with monthly expenditure reports required and emergency spending only with two thirds vote. Indians Fight Lease of Quinsault Lands in Oil Prospecting
