Iowa Red Light Law In Effect In Iowa

The Iowa Red Light law went into effect last week imposing nuisance status on buildings used for lewdness. It allows injunctions, sets fines from 200 to 2000 dollars, possible imprisonment, and abatement orders including removal of furniture and closure up to six months. Jay D Crary president of the ferson Oil Co reports a telegram from George A Woodard Tulsa Oklahoma declaring that the oil well drilling apparatus was shipped yesterday morning for Aberdeen The gear should arrive in ten days and be unloaded at Hoh river by Engineer Ewart who has arranged the scows to carry it up the coast. The drilling effort will soon begin on the ground.

Hanson Road At Bat Again In County Talks

Montesa ng June 17 The county board of commissioners held a long session with Jacob Schnock logging foreman of Polson company about Hanson road. Cameron Stockwell pressed for road to aid logging camps while commissioners noted costs and winter use issues. Locke favored making Hanson road a permanent highway linking Wyncoche Wishkah Hoquiam Humptulips and Olympic Highway. A stenographer was added to record future meetings.

Fatal Injury From Falling Limb Near Moclips

Gus Carlson employed at the M. R. Smith Shingle company bolt camp four miles east of Moclips was fatally injured when a limb fell at 10 AM Saturday. His skull was crushed and he died about two hours later. The body was brought to Hoquiam Sunday.
