Gohl predicts grand jury will free him after Aberdeen case

William Gohl serving life for the Harberg murder says the case will be reopened before Aberdeen grand jury soon after the first of next month. He claims co defendant J Klingenberg will tell the truth, and predicts his own release. Gohl heads to Walla Walla to begin sentence while his wife plans to join him. he hopes to complete a law course within a year if discharged.

Royal Arch lecture impresses audience at Grand Opera

Hon James Weir spoke to a well pleased audience at the Grand Opera house last night. Delegates and wives heard for the first time the Royal Arch purpose and the order’s work. Weir said they have cleaned up the saloon trade more than any prohibitionist effort in the state. Senator Ruth’s absence disappointed members. The group planned a business finish and a banquet at the Mecca for visiting members.

United Wireless Officers Arrested for Fraud and Mail Use

President C. C. Wilson and Vice-President Bogart of the United Wireless Telegraph Company were arrested in New York at 42 Broadway by U S Marshals on a charge of misuse of the mails. The firm promotes stock nationwide though listings are denied and no dividends are paid. The company operates offices in Seattle Tacoma Portland and San Francisco with a Seattle factory and ships using its wireless instruments from Alaska to Mexico. Sixteen land stations exist in the state and investigators Meyer and O'Brien provided the summons. The Maine incorporation seeks to unify wireless interests with authorized capital of 10 million dollars.

Classy smoker thrills Aberdeen with polished card

The Crescent Athletic club hosted a top quality Tuesday night smoker in Aberdeen drawing large attendance. Jim Morrison of Seattle teased a July Fourth San Francisco bout with eight Seattle coaches and two diners, while Tommy Morgan defeated Bob Oliver in the sixth round with a brutal sledge hammer shot and a closing sleeper. Crowe earns praise for arranging the classy bouts.

Mother of Gohl’s victim in poverty seeks aid

Judge J C Pearson has received a letter from Mrs. Hoffman mother of John Hoffman one of William Gohl’s victims living in Germany asking if her son left any property She says he was her sole support and she is left in poverty and distress The local Odd Fellows lodge plans to contact the grand lodge secretary to write to Germany and assist if she needs support

Horses In North Aberdeen Racetrack Arrests

Will Hogan and W H DeCarr were arrested for racing horses in the North Aberdeen resident section. Each posted $10 bail and said they will fight the case if taken to the Supreme court.

The Republican County Central Committee met in this city to name 27 delegates for the August state convention in Tacoma. E H Story of Montesano presided as Aberdeen and Hoquiam vacancies were filled. A national and state resolutions platform was adopted.

Tacoma groups plan joint exploitation push for Southwestern Washington

Tacoma trustees of the Commercial club and Chamber of Commerce join with the Southwestern Washington Development association for a Saturday night meeting to outline a regional publicity and exploitation campaign. Attending bankers and business leaders from Aberdeen Chehalis Centralia Kelso and Hoyu ian areas are named. A public session will follow to finalize plans.

Floor Collapse Destroys Old Warehouse Floor

The floor of the old warehouse recently occupied by S. B. Hicks & Son collapsed under heavy cement weight and the entire structure sank into the tide flats. Damages remain unfixed.
