The Aberdeen city council approves Mr Stewart’s offer to settle the street and water works needs, avoiding costly litigation. The Herald commends the decision as the cheapest, most practical path, with roads and land acquisition phased as work progresses.
The county commissioners awarded the year’s printing to Grays Harbor Gazette despite a bid over 100 dollars higher than a rival. The Herato has appealed to superior court. The primary bid factor was delinquent tax list publication due next January. Henao bid four and five-eighths cents per description for the tax list and ten cents per inch for other ads.
The Gazette charged four and a half cents per tax list description and twenty cents per inch for other ads. The treasurer estimated 30,000 descriptions. The paper claims the board mispriced and plans to appeal to the superior court to vindicate the bid while protecting taxpayers.
The Republican County Central Committee, representing precincts across the county, endorses the Montesano Aberdeen road project. One thousand citizens petitioned for it, but the board of commissioners has not responded, leaving the public without an explanation for the delay.
In Chehalis County Washington the administrator Julius Heyer with the will annexed for the estate of Albert Dreyer deceased invites creditors to present claims with vouchers within twelve months from the first publication. Claims must be filed at Shielde and Taggart Kaufman Block Aberdeen Washington and failure to do so will bar them forever. First published June 13.

The Convent of St Rose sues The United States Savings and Loan Co in Chehalis county Washington seeking cancellation of a $7000 mortgage dated April 28 1893 with 6 percent interest. It also seeks statutory penalties for failure to cancel and a judgment of 3570 for alleged overpayment plus total claim of 5840.25 as of filing. Attorneys J C Cross and J B Bripes represent the plaintiff.
