Proposed 1900 Democratic Platform by Champ Clark Speech
At a St Louis meeting Champ Clark outlined a 1900 platform urging adoption of the Chicago 1896 plank, a strong anti trust clause, Monroe Doctrine support, curbing government waste, hostility to injunctions, and unity behind William Jennings Bryan as standard bearer. He invited Palmer Buckner supporters and Republicans dissatisfied with Hanna to join, praising German American editors and traveling men as allies in an anti trust crusade.
