Missouri bankers report an optimistic outlook as wheat and corn crops promise strong harvests. They credit the new currency system for potential economic gains and say bank deposits hold steady while loan demand rises.
Washington July 26 plans are being perfected for a forest service led inquiry into timber and lumber trade conditions. The study will cover output demand overproduction freight charges and waste under current exploitation methods while evaluating low grade utilization and by products to protect the public and industry alike.
T W Webb, manager of National Lumber and Box Co, has been named sales manager of the Pacific Lumber Agency. He will succeed F L La Mar who resigned and assume the new post on August 1.

Harry Thompson son of Mr and Mrs Elmer C Thompson of 605 West Wishkah street died early Sunday morning from spinal meningitis aged 17. He leaves two sisters Mrs A R Wasson and Miss Helen Thompson of Seattle. Funeral services were held this afternoon in the Whiteside chapel.
Mrs. E A Halverson, longtime Cosmopolis resident, died Saturday in Oregon City Oregon. The body arrived for burial and funeral services were held at the Cosmopolis Methodist church. She is survived by her husband three sisters and two brothers.
A 19 year old man confessed to turning an air cock on a Merchants excursion train platform, causing the car to break and William C. Anderson to die. He acted after learning another arrest was planned and hopes for exoneration due to remorse and clean record. prosecution may be avoided if the railroad company does not press charges.
Hoquiam prepares to host 200 delegates from the Improved Order of Red Men and Pocahontas for a state gathering. The Owl train brings the main body Tuesday morning, with ceremonies at Eagles hall and a welcome by city and fraternal groups. A street parade and a guided auto ride are planned.
Veteran Catholic priest Rev. Father J. J. Gribben died peacefully after two months of illness at age 83. Born in 1831 in Drohmore Ireland he served 62 years in the priesthood including Madrid Mexico Spain Italy and the United States arriving in Aberdeen eight years ago. He crossed the Atlantic 52 times and celebrated his golden jubilee in Portland two years ago. Funeral arrangements pending.
The Tacoma district of the Columbia conference of the Swedish Evangelical Lutheran church schedules missions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with six pastors each for Grays Harbor and Rochester. Events begin Tuesday at 7:45 p.m. in Hoquiam and continue with 2 p.m. Wednesday sessions and 7:45 p.m. Wednesday programs, including addresses and music, with parallel meetings at the Norwegian Lutheran church in Aberdeen.

The Treasury plans to deposit about 34 million dollars in national banks this fall to facilitate crop movement and stimulate business. The body was shipped to Battle Creek Michigan for interment. born November 11 1875 in Grand Rapids Michigan, he is survived by his father A. J. Anderson and brother Albert Anderson.
July 27 Hoquiam railway yards start a 20000 dollar drainage project by Northern Pacific Railway. Roadmaster Fee and Engineer Dean arrived from Tacoma to oversee the work. Foreman C A Anderson leads a large crew with a steam shovel digging a long trench at the west end near the depot. The yard will be upgraded to standards rivaling others after completion.
City officials from Aberdeen Hoquiam Montesano and Elma met to discuss a permanent water supply for Grays Harbor area joining Montesano and Elma if desired. An engineer's cost estimate for a 32 inch Wynooche river pipeline and watershed plans were reviewed with a vote planned for next Saturday to consider engineer plans.
Mrs. Elsie Siler of Aberdeen won the nail driving contest at the Merchants picnic on Moclips beach setting a world record time of 14 seconds for driving three half penny nails into a plank. A spectator stopwatch shows 1314 seconds, with the Cleveland holder record at 14 1 total.
Miss Minnie Myrtle Ferrall of Walla Walla and Thomas A Jones of Aberdeen wed at St Andrew's Episcopal Church with Rev F F W Greene officiating. The couple will reside at Broadway. Mr Jones works in Cosmpolis dry goods history and now with Thomas J. Thomas jewelry. Both natives of Swansea Wales and Washington respectively.
