Two Famous Indian Fighters End of Frontier Ride
Cody recalls meeting General Custer in 1867 at Fort Hays and guiding him to Fort Larned on a mule while riding a fast Kentucky horse. He and Major General Carr recount attacks by the dog soldiers, a clash near Elephant Rock, and Cody’s perilous twenty mile rescue plus a fifty mile night ride to Fort Kearny to bring relief.
