Aberdeen residents encounter a flurry of brief visits and movements with Montesano, Centralia, and Hoquiam as common origins. Physicians, lawyers, merchants, and officials travel for work, court, and family matters while local firms promote goods and services and plan future ventures along the harbor and countryside.
The issue lists calls for general fund warrants up to April 1 1896 totaling about 11000 and school warrants up to May 6 1899 on the general fund and to February 4 1899 on the special fund. Mr and Mrs Will Wood celebrate a Tacoma wedding and reception plans. Mr and Mrs A D Wood host a reception for the groom’s parents. The Market street block contract awarded to McCaskey Shelley for 1591 with nine bids total. carpenter work completion by March 1. A quiet wedding unites Chas E Sudden San Francisco and Margaret E Raser Aber deen. Rev W H Gibson conducts ceremony. The couple will travel to Portland then Oregon and San Francisco where Sudden works in shipping and commerce. The Herald offers congratulations.

W H Kruger recently launched, loading lumber at American mill to be towed to San Francisco for machinery.
At a regular meeting Aberdeen Aerie No 24 adopted resolutions mourning the death of H A Johnston praising his good deeds and commending sympathy to his mother and relatives. A charter draped for 30 days and notice of publication sent to newspapers. Also includes a list of unclaimed letters, notices to settle debts, medical ads, and a county warrant payment notice.
The Aberdeen fire department smoker at the hose house Friday night drew a large business crowd. The A F D band played well and refreshments were served. Speakers included J S Gunn G P Clerin M Finn W J Patterson H N Anderson A J West and L W Walker. Notably three speakers revealed gifts to wipe out part of the fire hall debt with H N Anderson and W Patterson covering about half the amount and A J West providing a $100 credit. The event left the firemen proud and the town proud of them.
