Storm Damage Mounts as Grays Harbor Loss Tops Twenty Five Thousand
A severe storm last Sunday through Tuesday caused extensive damage on Grays Harbor with losses estimated at no less than 25000 dollars. A landslide in East Abideen damaged outbuildings behind J H Neiss home and filled yards on Chehalis street. Mrs Effie Keith’s house near East Market street shifted from its foundation and pressed against a neighboring dwelling. Police reported no major disturbances during New Year festivities as Aberdeen locals celebrated 1913 with confetti and fireworks and a lone shooting incident.

Chamber of Commerce Endorses Grays Harbor Fortification Plan
At the Hotel Washington weekly luncheon the Chamber adopted a resolution endorsing Gen. Mays recommendation for fortifying Grays Harbor. The meeting noted the harbor's importance shown during last summer's army maneuvers and discussed by laws and applications for membership. A band leader, D. M. McCosh, spoke on forming a top state band in Aberdeen for weekly performances.
