The La Fayette memorial commission announces the Philadelphia mint will strike a La Fayette dollar. It will bear Washington and La Fayette on the obverse and a La Fayette statue on the reverse. Only 1,500 of the population count will receive the coin, priced at two dollars and first coin to the French president.
