Herman Johnson, 18, an employee of Copalis Lumber at Carlisle, dies in Hoquiam General Hospital from tetanus after a foot wound. His mother lives in Stockholm, Sweden, and an uncle near Aberdeen. Aberdeen Wins Debate On Single Tax Issue
The Aberdeen high school debating team defeated Montesano to win the decision Friday night. Aberdeen reps Marion Crary Herbert Creech and Clarence Caldwell faced Montesano's James R Royce Loren Jones and Joseph Cheney. Judge J M Phillips presided with M L Carrier Preston M Troy and Herman Allen as judges. A musical program accompanied the event with a girls octet, the boys glee club and Miss Goldie Graham performing.

The Grays Harbor Poultry Association hosts its fifth annual show starting tomorrow at the Masonic Temple next to Union Trust Co. bank. Almost 800 entries compete from Grays Harbor, other Washington cities, and Oregon. Birds must be in place by midnight Tuesday. no entries admitted opening day unless delays were due to transport issues beyond the exhibitor's control.

George W. Lamping Loses Right Foot in Hoquiam
George W. Lamping proprietor of the New York hotel in Hoquiam underwent another operation at Hoquiam General Hospital. His right leg was amputated below the knee after diabetes treatment lasting more than two months. A toe had been removed in a prior operation. He recovered in good shape.

Rev. Charles McDermoth reports city and county cooperation to provide jobs for unemployed in Aberdeen. Married men cut three ricks daily at 60 cents per rick, with seniors in logging camps and a ranch job in Satsop valley. Nine men moved to Stump Tulips for portable saw mill work at 2.50 dollars daily. Wood is cut two feet long for waterworks and city buildings. some 16 inch lengths for families in need.
