A large crowd witnessed the launch of the Wimpe Brothers schooner at Lindstrom shipyard. Built for Wimpe Bros of San Francisco, the four master will carry about 900,000 feet of lumber to Honolulu and cost about 52000 after completion. The ceremony featured Mrs John Aspe breaking a champagne bottle as bow was slid into the river.

Automobile Ditch Off Plank Road Injures Five
An automobile traveling from Hoquiam to Aberdeen broke its steering gear and veered off the plank road landing on tide land. Five passengers named A B Taylor Bower Fraser Todd and McDonald were aboard. Todd suffered a broken ankle and McDonald a back injury while Fraser had a cut hand. Several others were shaken but unhurt. The bolt failure caused the crash and the car’s owners Kuhn and Smith were not harmed.
