Adjourned County Board Handles Road and Tax Matters

The Chehalis county commissioners met in Montesano on April 15 with full attendance. They ordered road improvements and openings, rejected fund requests, and authorized staff hires. Recurring items included road district actions, tax issues, and contracts, with adjournment set for May 6 1901. Aberdeen sidewalk project on Second street approved with proposed assessment district and protest window.

Several Street Improvements Are Adopted by City Council

City Council meeting approved five street improvement resolutions. W. J. Rasor won a bid for 80 cords of wood at 1.73 per cord and for Sixth street at 0.70 per foot. The council planned planking G street, eyed Third street, and authorized bids for water supplies and hydrants. A committee was formed to amend ordinance 104, fire department size raised to 60, and several other improvements authorized or referred for study.
