Aberdeen Chamber Pursues Eastward Road Link to Montesano
The Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday night with strong enthusiasm despite a small attendance. R. B. Kellogg and G. M. Powell were elected members while the treasury showed 347 in cash and notes and 59 members on the rolls. The group backed building a road eastward to connect with the county road, routing around the bluff to provide a level path to the city limits and aiding local mills. Engineer Hunt will draft a working plan, with Attorney Hogan to check railroad status and prepare resolutions and financing. The drive aims to boost Aberdeen growth, attract a larger membership, and ready the project for this season despite concerns over a congressional lumber subsidy that could affect trade. The publicity committee was tasked with 10 000 booklets for promotional use at up to 250.
