The Attorney General backs enforcement under the Sunday Act, reflecting community concern over danger to people at church and in fields, with similar rules on Sumas Prairie. Local mood favors strict enforcement. Wedding bells are to ring Saturday for a prominent town citizen.
A letter regarding Hallowe en lacks a name for publication. Delegates from Abbotsford Presbyter ian Sunday School include Mrs J L Campbell and Miss Grace Kennedy. Mrs Ben Nelson visiting Victoria. The Provincial Sunday school met in Victoria on the 14th 16th and 18th. The Ministerial Association met at the Manse with Conn McDiarmid Millar and Alder present. Mr Campbell led a discussion on munificence. Kent Pianolo of Vancouver represented Mr Keen. Miss Lockerby of Vancouver spent the weekend at the Manse. The Board of Trade will collect Patriotic Relief Fund contributions via Mr Morley at the Royal Bank. BCER reports strong local shingles sales with larger shipments to the States and Eastern Canada.
The town notes Mr Tim Mellroy praises the clean up at the recently burned Commercial Hotel. The site is cleared leveled and prepared for cultivation as efforts continue to restore the area.
Matsqul council sat in at the agricultural hall in Gifford on Saturday October 3 with the reeve presiding and all members present. Receipts show total taxes and interest 16501.89 and miscellaneous receipts 9540.15, expenditures 27926.29, bank loans and payments. several road repairs and authorized payments were approved and a patriotic event postponed.

In spring 1914 the Hort icultural Branch will run 25 pruning schools across the province. The department provides an instructor and expenses. local bodies guarantee 8 to 12 pupils per site with a $2 fee for ten three hour lessons over five days. Two schools may be held per district with 16 to 24 pupils.
