Aldergrove Leads In Marketing Question

Aldergrove, Fraser Valley, pushes a marketing plan with three meetings and a proposed network including Victoria, Vancouver and New Westminster to channel produce. Delegates were urged to push provincial government organization of farmers, with 362 shares already taken equaling 1810 dollars, and an adjourned meeting set for May 29 to finalize. Frank Clarke, secretary to the Farmers Institute, requests letters from BC farmers detailing successful beginnings for immigration bulletins.

Municipal officers meet in preliminary session on service plans

A well attended preliminary meeting reviewed organizing municipal service plans. Officials discussed structure and duties with civic leaders in attendance, outlining next steps and accountability measures for the project.

Municipal officers form BC association to aid staff

A gathering of clerks, treasurers, assessors, collectors and accountants in New Westminster planned a Municipal Officials Organization of British Columbia. A committee will draft a constitution as officials stress urgent need and practical usefulness beyond the Union of Municipalities.

Obituary of Mrs M McNeil in Ontario and Alberta

The death occurred recently of Mrs. M McNeil at an advanced age. A native of Scotland she came to Canada with early settlers and settled in Ontario with her husband. Mr McNeil was called to the Great Beyond about seven years ago, and the aged mother and two sons moved west to Aubots ford where they have lived the past two years. One son and two married daughters remain in the east. Mr H Campbell of Kamloops stayed in town several days as guest of his brother W M Campbell, local jeweller.

Farmers Should Form Organization to Promote Provincial Goods

Fraser Valley agricultural officials urge farmers and fruit growers to organize for provincewide purchasing and to sell provincial products locally. They critique reliance on imported goods and warn that some areas lack suitability for fruit farming, advocating mixed farming and better co operation and transport to boost conditions and favor provincial fruit with city consumers.

Football dance thrills Abbotsford with Lacrosse Club event

An Abbotsford audience enjoyed a good clean sport night featuring a Lacrosse Club concert and dance. Everett's orchestra, newly strengthened, led the musical feast with Miss Henderson and Mr. Blair as accompanists. Mr Blair drew heavy applause with his performance and encores honored all acts. Measrs Liddle and Morrison managed the arrangements to a successful conclusion.
