Registration Burau To Open On April 1
The provincial government plans a three bureau system in Victoria Vancouver and New Westminster to register place and supervise women workers for fruit harvesting. Miss Perry of the YWCA says registration begins April 1 and runs through April with an estimated need of 2000 workers. The program dubbed BC National Service Girls aims to aid farms during wartime.

Farm or Fight: YMCA Pushes Soldiers of the Soil Movement

How Capt Martyn Won His Military Cross
The London Gazette details Captain Donald B. Martyn of Maple Ridge earning the Military Cross for seven hours of leading his company in desperate fighting and twice believing himself the sole survivor. Martyn joined the 104th Regiment at war start, later went to the 47th Battalion overseas, was severely wounded at Festubert in April 1916, convalesced in England, and returned to Ripley Ontario to marry after a long leave.
