MATSQUI COUNCIL DISCUSSES DITCH WORK AND FINANCIAL MATTERS
The Matsqui council met March 6 in the municipal hall. Minutes from February 6 were adopted. A cashed December cheque issue was resolved with a new cheque to be issued. Residents raised drainage and ditch maintenance on Thompson and Ross roads. The union of British Columbia municipalities was discussed, along with road cinder treatments and bridge-ditch replacements. A fence dispute near the first bridge was clarified and road diversion concerns referred for action.

Evangelist McKinnon Returns to Vancouver Church
Rev A D McKinnon who led evangelistic services at the Presbyterian church last week with much acceptance returned to his Vancouver congregation last Saturday. A petition by L Beharrel and seventeen others to repair Riverside road to Matsqui village and Page road to Bell road was laid over for future consideration after Elliott noted some petitioners were not ratepayers. He warned gravel from Abbotsford would cause more harm than benefit. C B Povignant and seven others sought a road north from the Clayburn Straiton road through section 6 ty 20.

St Patrick's Day tea raises funds for church painting
Fifteen dollars were realized at a St Patrick's Day tea hosted by the Ladies' Aid of the Presbyterian church at Mrs. McMenermy's home on Wednesday evening. The money will finance the church painting in progress. Provincial Member Cawley visited Abboteford this week, meeting many friends.
