Niney Day Arrest Over Pocket Pick in Sumas Shooting Gallery
A Huntingdon man had his pocket picked in Sumas last Sunday. He accused a stranger, who attempted to flee but was stopped by Chief Vail and taken to Bellingham for a ninety day sentence. The prisoner's home remains uncertain, thought to be Murphy or Dennis now linked to the case.

Revision of the Matsqui Assessment Roll by Court
The council met to review and adjudicate appeals against the Matsqui assessment roll. Most cases involved reclassifications from Wild Land to Improved Property and adjustments of land and improvement values. The court ordered changes for numerous parcels and adjourned to June 6 for further proceedings.

W A Convention Reports and Local Social Events
Mrs J B Parton and Miss T J Boyd returned from Vancouver where they attended the annual W A convention. The Ladies Aid of the Presbyterian church held a social at Mrs Tretheweys on Wednesday. An afternoon tea is set for June 17 at Mrs H Ailson’s from 3 to 5:30. A lawn social at Mr Charles Hills was well received. The W A tour on King's birthday drew about one hundred attendees and raised a substantial sum for the group.
