Governor Grants Reprieve for Williams Death Sentence

Hurricane sinks Japanese steamer near Cape Flattery
The Japanese steamship Fukui Maru sank 875 miles off Cape Flattery Washington at midnight in a hurricane. All passengers and crew were rescued by the freighter West Ivan which was bound for Japan. Fukui Maru of 3087 tons was built in Liverpool in 1890 and owned by Yamashita Kashen Kaisha.

Little Girl Eleanor Long Dies in Abbeville
Eleanor Reynolds Long nine years old daughter of Professor and Mrs. Edgar Long of Due West died last Wednesday. Funeral services were held at the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church with short addresses by Rev. Jas. P. Pressly Dr. R. M. Stevenson Rev. R. C. Grier and Rev. C. B. Williams. Eleanor was a pupil at the graded school and received a wreath from her school. She was bright and popular, and her death came as a shock to friends.
