Republicans meet June 18 in Chicago and Democrats June 25 in Chicago. national committee decisions may decide Taft or third term. Contests limited. Ohio and other states feature tense campaigns. Harmon in Ohio seeks state endorsement.
Abbeville High School will close its session with an Opera House program featuring readings essays and delivering medals and diplomas. Seventeen seniors including salutatorian Miss Lou Ellen McFall will perform declamations and orations with subjects such as Benedict Arnold and Joyful routines, and Judge P B Gary will award medals while Rev Louis Briatow gives the invocation.
