Housing problem must be solved declares Macon secretary
New Orleans May 6 I Roger Miller secretary of the Macon Chamber of Commerce told the 14th annual Southern Commercial Secretaries convention that housing shortage has grown since before the war and requires action this generation. He cited 121 families per 100 dwellings today and urged a community housing corporation to address the shortage in the coming decade. He noted 20 times more homes needed than the 20,000 built in 1918 and 70,000 in 1919, with weddings continuing at about 1,040,000 annually.
