Negro in Jail for Assault After Cana Shooting
John Glenn, a Black Seaboard bridge hand, was arrested in Clinton on Wednesday and charged with assault and battery with intent to kill after shooting Charles Dunlap near Cana on Tuesday noon. Dunlap was taken to Greenwood Hospital and treated by Dr. R. B. Epting. the wound is described as non-fatal. Glenn fled by night train before police captured him. Sheriff Burts ordered his detention until court unless bail is posted.
