Largest Distilling Plant Seized by Feds Near Greenville
A large and complete distilling operation was taken and destroyed Tuesday night by federal prohibition agents based in Greenville near the Edgefield McCormick county line. Dynamite exploded under the plant’s brick furnace base and steel boiler, with two copper condensing outfits. About five thousand gallons of rye beer were poured out. no arrests were reported.
