City Schools Buy Palm Garden Property
At a Tuesday board meeting the Harrisburg city schools voted to purchase Palm Garden, a large one room hall once built as a dance hall by a local colored syndicate. The building will be remodeled into a two room school for colored children this fall using approved state plans and potential state county aid. W. M. Barnwell was reelected chairman and J. C. Thomson secretary, replacing Morse whose term ended.

Elberton Officer Kills Two Negroes in North Georgia
Elberton Ga Policeman x Jones killed two men Pelot a Seaboard porter and Harris known as Skeet Harris a discharged Seaboard brakeman early yesterday. Pelot cursed at the officer and Harris rode in a northbound Seaboard vestibule coach when the officer entered to arrest the disturbance. Jones fired in self defense killing Pelot and Harris. Pelot 29 had a Monroe family. Harris 35 had a wife and son in Abbeville. Special agent Blackwell of Seaboard went to Elberton to investigate.
