Death of Robert Calvin Brownlee in Due West
Robert Calvin Brownlee of Due West died June 23 at home after six weeks of heart illness. A self made and wealthy businessman, he built a large local enterprise with cousin J D Brownlee, served as treasurer for the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church for over twenty five years, chaired the Woman's College board, and held directorships in the Bank of Due West and local mills. Survived by wife Fannie Bonner Brownlee and children J Irwin, O Y, Lawrence, R C Jr, and Mrs W S Boyce. Funeral held at Due West church with multiple clergy in attendance.
