Arvesting Burr Clover on Two Acres Yields Big Crop

ir. Robt. S. Link has been harvesting burr clover at Donalds and gathered about 700 bushels from two especially good acres. The operation handles about 4,000 bushels in a season with roughly 12,000 bushels grown in Abbeville county.

Youth in City Drug Store Break-In Attempt

Last Friday at about 4 o clock Policeman Cannon surprised Willie Pope a colored boy attempting to open a Bowden Simpson Drug Store window. He was brought before Mayor Mars and fined 15 dollars or 30 days in jail. The fine was paid and the boy's uncle plans to send him to the State reformatory.

American army oversea casualties grow to eight thousand six hundred

Washington reports total American army casualties overseas at 8,634, up from 8,085 a week earlier. Breakdown shows 1,312 killed in action, 432 died of wounds, 1,268 died of disease, 446 died by accidents and other causes, 4,811 wounded, and 365 missing. Marines are not included in this list. About 900,000 Americans are in France, with few deaths from disease noted.
