Infant Frances Wilson Dies in Warrenton

Frances Hamilton Wilson, two months old, died Friday afternoon in Warrenton. The funeral and burial were held at Long Cane cemetery with Rev. H. W. Pratt officiating. Friends extend sympathy to Mr and Mrs Wilson on their loss.

Abbeville Red Cross Worker Honored for Liberty Bonds

Abbeville County praises Frank A. Carwile of Level Land and J Allen Smith Jr for leading Abbeville to oversubscribe its Liberty Bond allotment. Carwile, a patriotic Red Cross worker with two sons in service, drove community effort and urged a successful Red Cross week in the county.

Editor Visits Soldier Boys in Columbia

Last Saturday the Red Cross committee visited the soldiers camp at the fair grounds in Columbia. They met Abbeville youths Willie Mahon Willie Tones W D Wilkinson Wardlaw Lyon and Charlie Lyon who appeared healthy and happy. Wardlaw Lyon was on guard duty and observed eight men in a guard house formed by four chairs and two sacks with two games of set back in progress. The visitors concluded Wardlaw was the one punished.

Doctor J Bonar White Returns Home From Johns Hopkins

Dr J Bonar White arrived home Saturday from Baltimore where he recently graduated from Johns Hopkins Medical College He will now visit homefolks and friends before moving to Washington DC to practice at the Old Soldiers Home Hospital.

Edna Bradley Heads to New York for Summer Visit

First Regiment Ordered to Styx for Concentration

Miss Martin Serves Lunch at City Hall Event

Miss Mary Martin hosted a luncheon in the Superintendent of Education's office in the Court House for City Hall and Court House staff. The menu included chicken salad crackers pickles stuffed eggs and iced tea and was enjoyed by attendees. Mr Ed Calhoun and Miss Eunice Calhoun depart for Waynesville to spend the summer.

The ladies of the count appointed by Miss Martin depart for Winthrop Rock Hill to learn and teach home demonstration work their instruction will aid Abbeville county women. Distinguished visitors from across the country will attend and demonstrate home economies. Abbeville girls for the Tomato and Poultry clubs Daisy Lanier Mildred Winn and Ophelia Clinkscales will also go to a similar course next week.
