Abbeville July 23 1901 residents and visitors gather in the city for a week of social events. Mrs Nina Wilson and Miss Rosa Maxwell hosted and visited relatives in Savannah while guests from Spartanburg Lowndesville and Charleston joined local families at homes and the Oregon hotel. The Summer School opened with forty teachers enrolled, Mo. Thomas Cooley and Mrs. W. D.
