Missing Fort Dada sergeant and two men presumed drowned
In Florida on December 17 Sergt Lone Hill of Honea Path South Carolina Private Edward Scanlan and civilian Fort Dada quartermaster Barney Williams disappeared after leaving Fort Dada by speed boat for Gulfport. The overturned craft was found two miles from shore in the Gulf with gale conditions suspected. Williams's family is listed in St. Petersburg Florida and Scanlan's home is Brooklyn New York.
