President Wilson delivers a ringing message to Congress urging immediate declaration of war on Austria amid the broader war crisis. He frames the move as essential for national security and allied obligations.
The Friends of Leslie M. Swope announce his election to Phi Beta Kappa at Harvard University where he will graduate this year and then pursue a Harvard law course. Rudolph E. Langer of Cambridge also tops the senior class list for scholarly attainment.
