The regional board allows non heat producing operations before 9 a.m. and after 4 p.m. for stores and services while forbidding use of coal wood or gas heat. Hydro electric power may run without restriction. The policy aims to reduce public discomfort during the fuel crisis amid Christmas shopping.
County camp moved Tuesday to the town area under Bunty Supervisor W A Steven. Work will continue through winter on road improvements where labor is most needed. The camp now includes a rope guard and foreman Bo Behrosder.

Mrs. Cecile F. Schwerin aged 67 died Monday night at her daughter’s home in Sumter after a brief pneumonia illness while visiting. The body was taken to Sumter Tuesday and the funeral was held there Wednesday. She is survived by a son O. F. Schwerin of North Carolina and three daughters Mrs. B H Rosenberg Abbeville Mrs. Louis Lyon Sumter and Miss Julia Schwerin Sumter plus Mrs Ralph Lyon of Sumter.
Col Dale Barksdale does not give all the money to the big Baptist committees. He is seen riding around town in a large Chandler automobile that can accommodate his cats and many Birla 100.
Mrs. F. J. Marshall and Miss Kate Marshall spent Thanksgiving in Cartersville Georgia with Col. John F. Calhoun. They reported a pleasant time and stayed away from home until Tuesday.

A large amount of cotton arrived in Abbeville with most sold on the square. Prices for strict middling grade held around 40 cents. About 300 bales sold Wednesday and 200 bales sold Thursday.
Rev. T. A. Beckett of Glenn Springs Presbyterian Church will preach at Upper Long Cane Sunday morning at the usual hour. A good congregation is expected to attend.
Mrs. E. C. Hemphill Mrs. John M. Jambrell Mrs. Barnwell and Mrs. Kennedy from Due Wee renewed their youth Tuesday night by attending the minstrel show and enjoying jokes some of which dated back to Ann.
