Formal Protest Over Ballot Count At South Carolina Primary
Columbia August 29 Allegations that more ballots were cast in Tuesday's primary than men of voting age in the state have been made to Chairman John Gary Evans of the state executive committee. An investigation and recount may result. It is estimated about 20,000 more votes were cast for gubernatorial candidates than for other state officers, 30,000 above the record.
