At noon the Abbeville County election results show most incumbents reelected except superintendent of education J Foster Hammond. A second race will decide education, with W R Bradley leading over C E Williamson. Coroner results incomplete with Link leading, Gallaugher second. Legislative candidates tightly contested with 2,044 votes counted, 1,023 needed for a choice. Wyatt Aiken reelected to Congress with strong margins in Greenwood and Anderson.
