Mr Bradley Hurt After State House Fall at Columbia

Mr W W Bradley fell down the steps of the State House at Columbia last week. He sustained injuries described as painful but not serious, with a strained back and torn ligaments. Mrs Bradley traveled to Columbia Friday to be with him. Louis O Clinkscales arrived from Newport News Virginia where he has been making ships for Uncle Sam. Admiralty Ruling In Lusitania Case

New York August 25 The Cunard Steamship company cannot be held liable for loss of life or property in the Lusitania torpedoing a decision by the admiralty division of the United States District Court. Judge Mayer dismissed suits seeking nearly 4 billion for heirs of victims stating the sinking resulted from the Imperial German Government act via its submarine commander and that Cunard and its crew did all prudent acts given the knowledge at the time.

Mrs J A Brown of Greenville recently stayed with Mrs M E Hollingsworth, visiting Due West and planned brief calls in Donalds before returning home. She is known as the widow of Dr J A Brown, former pastor in Abbeville and longtime head of the Baptist Church in Due West.

Albert Rosenberg Commissioned Lieutenant in Infantry

Mrs. Philip Rosenberg received a telegram from her son Albert announcing his commission as a second lieutenant, infantry. He started as a private, rose to corporal and sergeant, then attended Officers Training School at Camp Sevier.
